February...the month in pictures

In my continued effort to catch up, here is FEBRUARY, the month in pictures.  February included two trips to Cary to spend time with my brand new nephew, and some general craziness in our household as well.  Hopefully now that I'm almost back on track, I can resume more normal posts sometime in March.
Mashed potatoes are a mess!

GQ man

Yes, he has figured out how to unlock and open the dishwasher

Ethan has become quite the climber and will climb up to stand on top of pretty much anyting - furniture, his music table, his fire truck...you name it, he can climb it!

He gets so proud of himself when he climbs!

This is the "please may I have ____" face

Still one of his favorite toys

Trying to get Ethan to pose in his Duke shirt on game day...alas he would not give up his silly cup with a straw (another recent obsession - cups with straws and getting water out of the front of the fridge himself)

Go Blue Devils

A fan from day one :)

There are no words....

When Ethan met Brandon for the very first time...they are destined to be friends forever

Ethan will do the sign language sign for baby every time we say the word "Brandon"

Hello baby!
Nana with her boys

Carolyn with Brandon and me with Ethan (and trying to get all of us looking straight ahead for one picture turned out to be impossible..this was the best of the bunch if you can believe it)

While Carolyn was on a conference call I got to baby-sit my adorable nephew (and Abby, the dog too)

Guess who got a little jealous?!

Whew, how do people with two do it?!  I'm tired just remembering this!

Wearing their matching cousin shirts together

Yes, he took out all of the plastic containers and cups and put himself into the drawer.  My child is nuts!!!!

He was content to play in there for a solid 30 minutes!

At the playground with Nana

Ethan LOVES the swings!

January...the month in pictures

Since I am obviously beyond behind on updates (ahem, so much for that resolution!) I decided the best way to catch up was just to give you the month in pictures.  Maybe one day I'll get back on track, but since my freelance work has been out of control for the past two months this is the best I can do for the months that I have missed.  So without further adieu, I present to you...JANUARY!
Love this...Ethan looks like some kind of creature from the woods all bundled up in his puffy coat and hat

Learning that you have to hold hands when crossing the street, even if it just to go across our cul-de-sac

Ethan loves grilling just like Daddy

Falling asleep in his high chair...it's a hard life

Evidently mashed potatoes can be used to create a mohawk...gross!

Playing around outside

Ethan loves playing in our backyard - we go out at least once a day now

Touchdown!

Another favorite this month..."helping" mommy with the laundry

He is still the paci king...we only let him have his pacifiers in his crib or car seat, but boy does he love them!

Cuddling a stuffed animal after his afternoon nap

Playing with his new train from his buddy Brady

This was a favorite for the whole month!

He decided to act like a baby for just a  brief moment and crawl...it's crazy how quickly he left crawling behind!

Working on his tool bench

Ethan decided to help himself to a snack (I was right there, and no, he cannot open the fridge by himself yet)

Hanging out after church

Watching the cookies mommy was baking (and no, it was not hot at all - I know how this looks!)

Riding on his fire truck from Santa.  He already loves having his own mode of transportation so I suppose Patrick and I should start saving for his first car now

Just playing

I pulled this swing out to bring for my sister and her new baby, and Ethan decided that it looked like a fun new toy

Hanging out

Ethan fell asleep in the car on the way home from church, and he was OUT

Waking up from a nap

Love this silly face

Another favorite activity - walking around in Daddy's shoes

Eating a snack while wearing Daddy's sneakers

Spaghetti is just a little messy, huh?!

Happy Valentine's Day

Introducing....

I'm going to have to keep this really brief, but wanted to share the wonderful news that I am now officially an aunt.  This morning my sister and her husband welcomed their beautiful baby boy (two weeks early I might add) Brandon Leonard.  He was 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 21 inches long.  He is perfect!  We are thanking God for this beautiful miracle and for blessing our family with this sweet baby boy.  Pictures and the whole story to come soon.
